Tumblr’s felt kinda dead for quite a while, tbh, apart from 2 or 3 friends on here; the tech stuff I can easily aggregate through a reader or something - tho maybe I’ll write my own (or perhaps I’ll just set up a passive Tumblr for now, just to keep an eye on a coupla folks).

Stopping-doing-certain-things forces you to do other, different things and that’s good.

Early pioneering tech from 1968 is a stereoscopic headmounted display created by Ivan Sutherland, the first Virtual Reality technology:

Computer graphics pioneer Ivan Sutherland models a stereoscopic display he created at Harvard using miniature TV tubes. An early application showed a three-dimensional wire-frame virtual room that users could explore by moving their heads.

I couldn’t locate a demonstration of the wireframe rooms (but if anyone knows … let me know!)

The BATMAN evaluation group is part of the U.S. Air Force’s 711th Human Performance Wing and is one of the military’s most distinguished research and development groups. It comprises both military and civilian behavioral and technology scientists. The BATMAN acronym stands for Battlefield Air Targeting Man-Aided (K)nowledge.
